Fragrances do alot more than affect your moods and entice lovers, they also work to help keep pesty bugs away! Did you ever think they could help with mosquitoes'?

The summer weather is always beautiful and most of us love to sit on the balcony, throw a barbecue party, or simply keep the windows open after sunset. However, this also means a great opportunity for an army of mosquitoes to enter our homes and feed on our blood since they are normally attracted to the smell of human bodies.The best way to protect yourself is to repel the mosquitoes and keep them as far away as possible from your house. To help you out, here are 11 scents that can repel mosquitoes instantly and naturally.

1. Lavender - A scent that is adored and used for relaxation repels mosquitoes' and other insects. It is a good option as it can reduce the mosquitoes' ability to smell, which in turn will keep them from you!

2. Basil - You think this is just an herb for cooking! It has a strong scent when the leaves aren't crushed! You can leave plant in an area and it will do the work for you. Lemon basil is the most effective however, cinnamon basil will work as well.

3. Peppermint - One fragrance that all insects hate. The scent and oils that are in the leaves are excellent in keeping the mosquitoes away. Put plants around your home and/or you can crush the leaves and rub the oils on your skin.

4. Rosemary- Another herb that you cook with! Use this by throwing leaves in the fire and let them burn.

5. Citronella Grass - Where the citronella candles get there fragrance from. The candles work well, though you can also put out the plant!

You can also use Vanilla Powder, Catnip and plant Marigolds, Geraniums, Pennyroyal, and Lemon Balm!
